About me

I am a professional artist from the Wirral, North West England. My artistic potential was first noticed by my high school art teacher, who encouraged me with advanced tuition. However, due to my working-class background, I had to leave school at 15 to work, putting aside my artistic aspirations. Years later, in my late 30s, I had the opportunity to pursue a degree in Art & Design Illustration. Despite being new to painting, it felt completely natural, and after five intense years, I graduated with a BA Honours in Art Illustration.

My work is heavily influenced by surrealism, drawing inspiration from artists like Edward Hopper, Michael Parkes, and René Magritte. My colour palette has been compared to Salvador Dali, though I wasn’t initially influenced by him. I work intuitively, often jumping between sections of a painting, fuelled by my ADHD, which enhances my creativity. My art is an extension of my imagination, evolving with each stroke, and like my children, I check on my progress before resting for the night.
